TAIPEI - The main route of Alishan Forest Railway, a popular tourist attraction in Taiwan, will be closed for another three months due to safety concerns, the island's railway authority announced.The 106-year-old railway which runs up to and through the mountain resort of Alishan in Chiayi County had four train derailments from Jan 18 to Feb 25, and the main route was immediately suspended after the fourth accident pending an investigation.At a press conference held Monday, the authority announced that the main route between Chiayi station and Shizilu station will be suspended from service for another three months, but the branch lines will continue to operate.The investigation team recommended the route remain closed until issues, including rotting sleepers and old trains, are resolved.A batch of newly designed trains are being tested for potential dangers, said investigation team.Apart from the derailments on Alishan Forest Railway, Taiwan's railway network has experienced 16 accidents so far this year. rubber wristbands in bulk

Police are searching for thieves who got away with goods believed to be worth more than HK$18 million from a jewelry shop in Hong Kong, March 26, 2018. [Photo by Parker Zheng/China Daily ] Hong Kong police are searching for three thieves after their gang smashed shop windows and grabbed goods worth more than HK$18 million ($2.3 million) from a jewelry shop in one of Hong Kong's busiest commercial districts. A total of four people were reported to have participated in the heist, which took place at around 11 am Monday at the Treasure Jewellery store on the ground floor of Duke Wellington House on Wellington Street in Central. One man was arrested at the scene and police were searching for the other three, who are reported to be non-Chinese ethnic men. Glass on the shop's front door shattered and a black backpack was found there. The police also found items believed to be used in the theft in a nearby alley and Lan Kwai Fong, one of Hong Kong's most popular nightlife hot spots.
